It's nice to see a story that's a bit different from the usual "John cheating on Rodney with priestess/ancient/other expedition member" story. Those stories seem to have Rodney forgive real cheating on John's part very easily (which infuriates me!). Therefore I'm glad to see a story where John is also forgiving.
