Say no to manufactured pop

Are you sick of the mass market rubbish peddled as music by shows like Z Factor and Simon bloody Cowell, well here's the antidote.

It's the wonderful We're All Going to Die by Malcolm Middleton. The video is brilliant and even though you think the song is depressing it's not. Actually it's all about how we're all in the same boat really and that's more hopeful and uplifting than any amount of manufactured warbling and false cheeriness that the creepy kids on the X factor can offer.

So, when the track is released on 17th December I shall be downloading it and doing my part to make it the Christmas number 1 here in the UK.

That is the most brilliant Christmas song I've heard for years!

Isn't it? I only heard it today and I fell in love with it. The video just made it better. There's a fairly good campaign here so fingers crossed for a high chart position.

Isn't it? I shall be buying it just to stop the X factor winner being number 1 ;-)

I never said it before but I love your icon. Cuttlefish are really rather good. I'm an octopus fan myself but cuttlefish communication is really amazing.

Thank you - it seemed appropriate given my LJ username... my maiden name initials were cep.... which kinda got turned into cephalopod by various people. :) Oh, and thanks for the Messiah tips... we do get back to the UK fairly frequently to see family & friends so I'll definitely keep it in mind! cep xxx
