Real life, it is hectic

So, work's mad busy in a weirdly laid back kind of way. I know that makes absolutely no sense at all. There's a deadline looming that my team are mostly all geared up for but everyone else seems to have not forgotten about but lost focus on. So I feel like I'm constantly badgering people to pull their finger out and fix stuff. Very draining, especially as I've one guy who reports to me, indirectly, who needs a smack in the mouth for being stupid. Unfortunately that sort of thing is frowned on by HR.

On the plus side, work are paying for me to go to a conference in Las Vegas in June. It's all finally booked now and I'm very excited, if worn out by dealing with the finance department (who are a bunch of mindless cretins). I'm staying at the Palazzo, which is part of the Venetian. It's very, very luxurious in a totally over the top kind of way. I'll have 3 TVs in my room. One 42" in the sunken lounge, another 42" in the bedroom and a 17" in the bathroom. I can sit on the loo, watching TV and call people on one of the three cordless phones in the room, whilst drink something from the 'refreshment center' in the room :-)

What all this means of course is that I've been terribly poor at leaving comments on all the fabulous fiction I've read over the past few weeks. So, thank you all for the brilliant entertainment, the hours spent relaxing read great stories and wonderful imagery. Girl scout cookies *sniggers*
