Poo!

Today I found out that they're shutting the office where I work down in March next year. I might moan about it but I actually enjoy my job and I don't want to go. They might offer me a chance to move to Sweden, which I might consider, but I'm not sure. It's all a bit depressing really.

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry; that's horrible! *hugs* At least you've got plenty of time to consider your options & work out what's best for you to do next. cep xxx

Yeah, it's a bugger, but there's a fair bit of time to make choices. Thanks for the hugs :-)

Oh it's happened to me before too. Twice before! Still it's a bugger. You're right though it could turn out well. Fingers crossed it does.

*hugs*

Well, that bites! :-( I'm certain that you'll be able to turn this to your advantage, though. You've done very well by the company and even if you don't continue to work for them, I'm positive that a similar operation would do quite a bit to entice someone with your proven abilities to come and work for them instead.

I love your faith in me :-)

It'll be fine though I'm sure, just a bit of a shock. And it jolts me out of my little routine.

Oh no. {{hugs}} They might want you to move to Sweden, though? Kind of far away.

Only 1.5 hour flight from Manchester to Copenhagen and then a 15 minute train trip over the bridge to Sweden. Not too bad. But Lund, the place in Sweden it's all moving to , is very, very flat and dull. Ho hum. I'm trying for califoria too. Less flat and warmer :-)

And California doesn't have the sun go down so early in the winter. :D

California would be great! There are so many different things to see and do, especially if you're willing to get out of the metropolitan areas. And don't forget, there's a Lush Cosmetics store in Santa Monica. ;-) I'm fairly familiar with most of the state, so please let me know if you want some ideas for places to check out if you do wind up there.

I think it's going to be Sweden though, if I stay with the company. My boss's, boss's, boss's boss knows I'm interested in going to Sweden now (as is my boss and her boss) so it's likely they'll take us on mass. It depends on the offer they make as I'm not going to end up out of pocket for it.

The other place is Redwwod City, just south of San Fransisco, but I think that I'm not likely to get as much encouragement there. I can see the big boss's point. Why break up a good team and he'll be able to transplant a Sector Manager, a department manager and a project manager in one go. To be honest I'm quite looking forward to it. Although California would be fun though.

Yay! I think I would go with Sweden too, at that rate. I remember you saying you didn't want to lose the upper management with whom you worked so well and it is absolutely wonderful that the higher ups see the advantage to keeping a winning team together.

If you do decide to go for Redwood City, the San Francisco Bay area has a lot of interesting things to see and do, but the cost of living is ungodly high (at least by US standards).
