Very excited

Tomorrow my exciting new kitchen work tops arrive. They're solid beech and very, very lovely. They're from Ikea so are called Benobo or Slibben or something equally ludicrous but I love them. On Saturday my new fridge and freezer arrive and on Sunday my dad's coming over to help me fit the worktops and hang some shelves. I'm taking him and mum out for lunch in return.

Other than my kitchen looking a lot nicer and having more worktop space I will no longer have a fridge freezer that goes Nddnnnnnrrrrrrrrrrrr loudly when it starts up in the middle of my favourite shows and then Addaddadddaddddrrr when it shuts off. It is very old and cost me nothing but I'll be glad to see it go.

My favourite ever was the nob rack. So you could hang up your nobs I imagine. Is that funny in non-coloquial English? Knob = penis

Heh... that's hilarious! Of course, I also find Brad Pitt's name hilarious. (Pitt=penis in Swedish). Mentally, I will never be older than twelve.

Also, woohoo, because now I can do more than just translate a menu from Swedish! Admittedly it'll be useless in all but very specific circumstances :-)

Oh don't say that. I was hoping for quiet, or at least less noise when I got rid of it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed until they arrive that they're quieter.

I stll snigger about the nob rack and it was years ago. I have a purile mind.

It is less noisy...but not quite as much as I was expecting. Most of the time I'm not aware of it so much, but every now and then...oy. It might have something to do with the fact my heating doesn't work - apparently, fridges have an optimum operating temperature closer to the average room temperature. My kitchen is pretty cold most of the time.

There are things I've read or heard from way back that still make me howl with laughter. I have a particularly puerile mind as well. Though I read nob rack and for some reason my mind keeps going back to BDSM...
