What do we know, as cannon, about John's parents? I've read so much fiction that it all blurs together. Can you help? It's for a fic where I don't want to contradict cannon, just add/spin it.

Thanks. I've taken out the military thing as it didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Not in what I'm writing anyway :-)
