I got an award at work. I'm so pleased. I've never, ever gotten anything for doing my job before. I feel all...appreciated. I can't believe it. It's not a load of cash or anything big but it's the thought. Actually it's really lovely. It's a Kosta Boda Snowball glass votive. I love Swedish design so it's kind of perfect.

We've had a change of top manager for our section and a change in overall leadership and it's amazing. I feel like my department are actually being listened to and I finally have the authority to make the decisions I've been expected to make before but with no back up. I'm not saying my job is what I really want to do when I grow up but still, it's okay despite the stress. Which is good, considering I did  another 10.5 hour day today.

See how easy I am? One small sign of appreciation and all the ranting I did last week is forgotten.

Course Wednsady was crappy and I had a 7am meeting this morning :-( Still, it was very nice and one of the senior managers who left today said that other teams should learn from my teams attitude. Very cool. Finish on friday and then have 2 weeks off. Woohoo.

Congratulations. I think it always makes us feel better to know we're appreciated, especially when we aren't expecting it! And employers are notorious for *not* recognizing the importance of their employees. I'm glad yours did. And, yeah, a little appreciation goes a long was to a little forgiveness!

We've had a pretty bug shake up of managers and it's got so much better. The right people in the right places to make the right choices. Nicer place to go of a morning :-)
