There's something very wrong here
Feb. 27th, 2008 07:28 pmThis whole thing in Jersey (story here for those who aren't in the UK) is really upsetting me. Not that there was decades of child abuse in a care home, although that is truly awful enough on its own, but that the remains of a child were found there. How can no one miss a kid who was in a care home? How can the local authorities not notice a child isn't there any more? The death of any child is terrible, of anyone at all, but that no one wondered where the kid had gone is just so unbelievably sad.
Maybe that's not the story, maybe the remains are of a well loved child that some reported missing from its home at the time and they just happened to be buried at the care home...where there was child abuse going on. Just wrong.
