So, I'm tense

I know it's a little nuts to be nervous about an election in another country but, hell, this one counts. What's annoying is there's nothing I can do to affect it and now I'm stupidly worried that people won't vote the way the polls are showing or that for some reason the people who said they'd vote Obama don't vote because the polls are saying it's in the bag.
Anyway, I was speaking to a friend who lives in Holland and he told me he's going to the US Embassy to the election party there. Don't ask how he got the invite because I have no idea. He does this sort of thing (he got me into the Return of the King premiere in London). He said he's not pretending to be the Scottish Consul General, so who knows. He said he's looking forward to the evening as obviously the staff are mostly Republicans right now and he wants to watch them squirm. Of course I think that means he's jinxed it because I'm a pessimist.
Fingers crossed though.
Might have to have a drink...
Possibly take up smoking again...
God!

And you're right, I am incredibly glad that it's over! Yeesh.
