I bought a Nintendo Wii. It'd fab, even if I'm deeply rubbish at the games. 9 shots for a 3 par hole in the golf! Even Rodney would be mocking me. The cow racing is loads of fun, as is shooting aliens. I just spent a hour playing the Wii Sports and actually worked up a bit of a sweat. Terrible really, how unfit I am. But, that's part of the plan for the Wii. I'm going to buy a Wii fit board after Christmas (when I hope there will actually be some in the shops) because I'm way more likely to use that than join a gym.

It did make me want to write a Wii Atlantis story. I think John and Ronon would like the sick humour of Destroy all Humans, you just know Teyla will be an ace at SSX Blur and Rodney would hate playing Big Brain Academy in case he didn't win.

My folks, my brother and his girlfriend are coming over tomorrow so they can all have a play. I'm sure my bro has already had a go of someone's but Dad should enjoy himself, as long as he doesn't put his back out. Mum can't really have a go as she can't see. Mind you I think she'd probably get as high a score as me as I'm crap. And she can use the force. She used to manage to throw a rolled up dish cloth at trouble makers across the class room when she was teaching craft classes just aiming from their voices.

For lunch I'm making a tuna wellington as my brother and his girlfriend don't eat meat. She doesn't eat onions or garlic either which is a nightmare. I've made the mushroom pate part already with some chestnut and prorchini mushrooms so I can assemble them tomorrow after I steam the spinach. I think I'll do individual ones rather than one large one, mainly because I've got small-ish pieces of tuna steak. I've also made cocoa snaps (like ginger snaps but with cocoa) and I'm going to make a tangerine mousse to go with them. I shall let you know how it goes.

So cool! I've been thinking about getting one, too. Mostly for it Wii fit part. Really. lol
Go mom, with the Force!
mmm...cocoa. And how can she not eat garlic? Garlic is a gift from God, man.

I know, I'd die without garlic. To be fair to her it does seem to make her ill rather than it just being a weird neurosis.

The wii is cool. Racing knitted cows, which is just a game to help you learn the controller, is stupendous. The Wii sports is great (it came bundled with the console)and I'm getting better at tennis and bowling but I still suck at baseball. Really, really badly suck.

Oh man, KNITTED COWS?!?!? I must have it!

Well, if it actually makes her sick, then I understand. Poor girl. :(

The knitted cows are so much fun. It's on Wii Play which I think you only get packaged up with a spare controller. Make sure you buy the spare with the games, as it' worth it for the cows.

That sounds yummy! I would love to get a Wii, one of these days! Will you post to let us know how the fit board works out? I'm curious to see if it works, if it does and I get a job that actually pays me, then I wouldn't mind getting one with a fit board.

The cow racing sounds like so much fun! I would suck at the golf, *laughs* Shooting would be a great stress reliever, that's why I love World of Warcraft, I get to bash things! *laughs*

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] adafrog I love garlic! Coca snaps sound really, really good!

I shall let you know how it goes, although I warn you I'm rubbish at keeping fit so if it fails it's more me than it.

Destroy All Humans is great for shooting things and you get an anal probe as a weapon! Loads of fun even though I'm rubbish at it.

The Wii! I love the Wii. My brother got one this summer. I am in love with the boxing and am, in fact, undefeated champion of the family. I also love the tennis. But don't talk to me about Guitar Hero...I utterly fail at it.

I'm trying to convince him to get the Fit so I can come over all the time and use it. So far, no dice.

I love that you're boxing champ. I can seem me being good at the bowling but my brother will be champ at all things because he plays a lot more games than me, even if it's on the PS2.

Yet another person who loves the Wii. I may have to break down and get one after the Vancouver Stargate convention when my budget gets a chance to recover.

LOL! Your Mom sounds like my Mom. I wonder if that automatic targeting system is something all mothers have?

o_0 No onions or garlic?! That's just wrong, food isn't food without them, especially the garlic!

Wait until after xmas (and the convention) they might be cheaper. They are loads of fun.

Mum didn't have a go on the Wii but my dad is undesputed champion of the laser hockey game. He beat me, which is no big deal, but he beat my brother too which is unherd of.

She gets sick of the onions and garlic so I forgive her, even if it makes coking tough.
