How despressing is it that the item I have on the MSF auction (a signed copy of Recipes from Pegasus) is only attracting a bid of £2? That makes me feel appallingly crap. Ho hum.

Hmmm that might be a semi-flounce. Sorry [info]lavvyan  :-)

Fingers crossed you find a giant pot of gold in your garden.

That's sad. What is wrong with this fandom? The awesomeness of the book on its own should get more bids than that...

*shakes fist*

No flouncing, or I'll pester you about Nephelai until you put me into your spam filter.

Seriously, though, everyone's so hyped up on the last Sweet Charity that the MSF auction is attracting almost no attention. I think that's part of why most items don't have very high bids - I mean, look at [livejournal.com profile] crysothemis's prints. Last year, they went for 80 quid each, I think. Possibly more.

Those prints will go for that or more by auction end I'm sure (I wish I had the $). I agree about Sweet Charity and I would hype the MSF but you know, don't want you to have to stretch your budget either. ;) I could hype without hyping myself, though. <lj user="luna_61") also has icon/wallpaper sets that have no bids so far.

If I could, I'd buy half the stuff there. Especially [livejournal.com profile] luna_61, as she's made one of my favourite icons. *points*

Alas, I'm poor. But please, hype. This isn't about me getting a story from you (though I want one) but about people donating as much as possible. :)

I totally agree. This is such a worth charity, I really want to see a lot raised as well.

(and like I said, I would write for you anytime)

I know. I might wish for something for my birthday; that way you can finish some of your more important projects first. But seriously, I'm already happy that you're offering. *hugs*

I'm highest bid on a crocheted ninja. It's the cutest thing. I'm imaginging it's John under the outfit :-)

It's a shame about the Sweet Charity/MSF clash. And that not everyone has a whole heap of cash now. You have so many people reading you that it should bump up the interest a bit though.

And I thought about Nephelai the other day. But then I had to write a training plan for Tokyo and so I couldn't do anything. Just nightmarish right now.

I hope so. One of the few instances where I can use my audience for good. ;)

Just knowing it wasn't abandoned is enough. I still mourn about Azrael abandoning her story with a cliffhanger.

I'm going to her wedding in May! I shall try to nudge her but I think that phase has passed. Tis a shame as I loved it too.

Perhaps she could give you a brief summary of what she was going to write? That'd be something at least. *crosses fingers*

Also, if you'd convey my congratulations? I exchanged emails with her only once, but still. :)

£150-200 each, IIRC actually. Although a lot of last minute bidding went on so I think they will go a little higher but so many people are broke at the moment and a lot more people know about Sweet Charity as it attracts a lot of BNFs and thus word gets spread about a little more.

Still, the running total to date on all items is pretty respectable and about what I thought it might get. We will see... It's still high enough for me to think about doing it all again next year ::grins::

Hopefully my mentioning it hasn't made it too much for you...except that's the wrong attitude for the auction. So, hopefully you can spend lots.

No worries, I have a budget and if nothing else, maybe I can drive the bidding up, because I really love this charity and would like to see a lot of money raised for it.

A lot of people do leave it until the last minute to bid so please don't worry too much! I'm also doing a bit more 'pimping' I've found doing it too early just isn't worth it. However, losing 'net access for the best part of the weekend didn't help and I am playing big-time catch up!

Hell's Bells, I didn't even know about this auction. :-( It's a pity the auction is taking place now instead of next week. I could have gotten Joe Flanigan's signature on it as well as Amanda Tapping's and Robert Picardo's.

I'm definitely going to take my copy of the book and get their signatures on it, though. *g*

Well, there's always next years auction. Anything that you can spare to give away would be gratefully recieved I'm sure.

I am so jealous of you getting them to sign it. Chuck signed the page with his recipe on too in the one I'm selling so I think you should get them to sign one of their recipes for you. I bet Robert Picardo will like the idea of Woolsey being a chilli head.

I think you're right about Robert Picardo, he goes out with Joe Mallozi quite a bit and I think they go for the spicy stuff.
