I guess greek myths or star signs is a common theme for meeing rooms and servers. Or whoever named yours was a Stargate fan :-)
We used to have servers named after Harry Potter characters. Our meeting rooms back in the UK are named after cities or, in some very sad cases, Ford cars.
You're right, I live in the UK but I work for a Swedish company so I spend a lot of time in Sweden, usually Stockholm. I suppose it is a bit far for just a course but it's good to actually meet my collegues who work here.
aha! makes sense! it must be nice to be able to meet your colleagues; i work for an american company with offices all over the place, i'm going to meet some of my german colleagues in a few weeks cause my sister works there and i'm going out for our birthday, but the others are in Mumbai and Dallas! what i wouldn't give to be able to pop out to Dallas for a trip!
I managed to swing a trip to Chicago and San Diego last year and I was in Beijing in May this year. I can't remember how many times I've been to Sweden this year. It sounds glamourous but it's mostly exhausting :-)
I can now do a mean presentation though. Really, really great course.
Frankfurt - my sister moved out there a while ago and it's our birthday soon, she works for the same company so obviously with colleagues of mine - they have a rule out there that on your birthday you have to take beer's in to work, so my brother in law and i are going in in the afternoon with beer for everyone!
i've only been once before, 3 years ago, so i'm really looking forward to it. i went to mumbai on a work trip for a couple of weeks but that's about it!
Stockholm is lovely. I'll be there in a couple of weeks actually, well near by in Djurhamn for a 2.5 day workshop. I won't get any time to spend in the city this time though. Earlier this year I finally got to see the Vasa and I was awe struck.
I'm not sure I said this already but I live in the Manchester of England :-)
I'm in Denmark now, in a very nice room in the Hilton at Copenhagen airport. I might be forced to have a bath after dinner and put the robe and slippers on :-)
Heh, what a coincidence. I'll probably be going to Stockholm in a couple of weeks myself on a writing thing (kick-off for NaNoWriMo).
I didn't know you lived in Manchester, cool! I don't know how similar the two cities are today, but Norrköping used to be the centre of the textile industry in Sweden, so that's where the name comes from.
